UI/UX Design — entry level
UI/UX design is one of the key skills in digital product development today. This three-month course is intended for anyone who wants to gain a solid foundation of UI and UX design, understand how to design a digital product from idea to prototype, and learn to base their decisions on user needs.
UI/UX design is a field of digital design that deals with how a product like a website or app looks, how it is used, and how it feels to the user.
The program is designed as a practical introduction to UI/UX design, with no prior experience in design or programming required. Through work in small groups and with mentor support, participants go through the entire process - from understanding the problem and users, to designing a functional and visually consistent interface.
Who is the program intended for?
• Beginners who want to enter the world of UI/UX design
• Graphic designers who want to move into digital/UI design
• Professionals from marketing, product and project management
• Freelancers and anyone who wants to learn how to design digital products
The program is adapted to participants without technical background and does not require knowledge of HTML or CSS.
We guide you through the lesson plan of the UX/UI design course:
Introduction to UI Design - The basics of UI design, the role of the UI designer and understanding modern digital interfaces.
Color, Typography, Visual Hierarchy - How color, typography, and visual structure affect readability, brand perception, and user experience.
UI tools and wireframing - Working in design tools (primarily Figma) and creating low-fidelity wireframes as a basis for further design.
HiFi Prototyping and Information Architecture (IA) - Content structuring, high-fidelity prototyping and understanding the relationship between structure and design.
UI elements and design system - Introduction to basic UI components and design system principles, as well as examples from practice.
Responsive design and microinteractions - Mobile-first approach, grid systems and basic microinteractions that improve the user experience.
Intro UX & UX Research - Introduction to UX design and UX research, defining problems and understanding user needs.
User needs and gap analysis - Identification of user needs, goals and obstacles, as well as analysis of the differences between the existing and desired experience.
Research methods - Basic UX research methods: interviews, surveys, heuristic evaluation and usability testing.
Personas and User Journeys - Creating personas and mapping user journeys as a basis for design decisions.
MVP validation and iteration - Validation of ideas through prototypes, basic testing principles and iterative design process.
Analytics and Final Evaluation - An introduction to analytics, measuring design success, and connecting qualitative and quantitative data.
Final work - Creation of a complete UI/UX project for a simple digital product or small business - from research and wireframes to the final prototype and presentation. The final paper can serve as the basis for a portfolio.
At the end of the training, regular participants receive an official Molèn Academy certificate.
